Research Areas

HUMAN+ will recruit up to 18 experienced researchers over 2 calls, each for a duration of two years. We invite research proposals addressing one of two broad strands:

Strand 1

Questions that consider technological developments from the humanistic perspective.

Strand 2

Research for the development of computing technology with insights informed by the arts and humanities.

Research Areas

Research proposals under each strand must be positioned within a HUMAN+ Research Area. The following is an indicative list of these areas:

+  Artificial Intelligence; Computational Linguistics; computational stylistics; Corpus Linguistics; forensic linguistics; Linguistic analyses of contemporary literature

+  Computer graphics, character animation, virtual humans, AR/VR, and perceptually-adaptive graphics

+  Graphics and perception, Computer Animation, Crowd and Human simulation

+  Application of health psychology and behavioural science to the fields of digital health and digital integrated care

+  Speech Communication, design and application of mathematical algorithms to enhance or augment speech communication between humans and technology.
