Anne Dolan is an Associate Professor in Modern Irish History and a Fellow of Trinity College Dublin.  Her work focuses on twentieth-century Ireland and combines interests in the history of violence and the history of everyday life.  Her published work has centred around the commemoration of conflict and the nature of violence, and how societies put themselves back together again after periods of violence.  The question of how people lived through periods of upheaval and conflict was at the heart of the successful Trinity College Dublin and FutureLearn MOOC, Irish Lives in War and Revolution, she developed with Dr Ciarán Wallace and Professor Ciaran Brady, and that question now drives a wider consideration and exploration of how data could be mined to understand everyday life in the past.
